Paid For! - Update on cost and profit
As of this writing I have ran 2 Perimeter Checkpoint, 3 Perimeter Hanger, 1 Sleeper Data Sanctuary and had 1 pvp fight. This has resulted in enough isk to cover the cost of the Myrmidon and the resulting changes to the fit needed.
One thing I have noticed is that the drones I have been using are the same damage types that the rats use, which in most cases is typically the damage type that they are weak too. However, looking at the resist profile of the in-game ships, there appears to be equal resistance to all damage types. I definitely need to do more research on this. I have noticed that it does not matter if I use the Gallante or the Amarr drones on if the rats die faster. There is a definite difference in the cost between the 2 types of drones though.
Thought has been given to carrying Mobile Tractor Units instead of a Mobile Depot. I'm using a Mobile Depot because it allows me to have online working modules during a change from scanning ship to ratting ship after only a 1-minute timer for it to set up. The Mobile Depot can be deployed, the fit changed, everything scanned down, the fit changed again, and I'm back to playing faster than off lining and on lining the various modules. Also with the Mobile Depot, I can save some cargo hold space by putting the modules from a pvp fight into empty slots. While they would be offline, it is still that much space not being taken up in the cargo hold, which allows for more cargo to be brought to market.
I am definitely looking forward to getting a battleship and having an escape bay frigate. While it would leave the ships vulnerable, I wonder how much MORE vulnerable they would be verses changing fits. The T3 cruisers are supposed to be specifically for this type of game play, but the issue I see with that is cost and availability. Not to mention the T3's I have seen will not be able to take on the higher-class wormhole sites.
The wormhole I was "living in" seem to be traveling through New Eden counter clockwise and would spawn a new high sec exit about 5 jumps from the prior. I wonder if all wormholes behave in this manner; I will find out with the next one I jump into....
